My first Pluralsight course published – Planning and Installing Chef

I’m very pleased to be able to announce that my first Pluralsight course – Planning and Installing Chef – has gone live and is available online in the Pluralsight course library!

The course is written more from the perspective of an infrastructure specialist, rather than a developer. In it, we go through the process of setting up Chef Server from scratch, configuring and using the Chef Development Kit (ChefDK) to bootstrap a couple of servers running in Azure (after we use Azure Resource Manager to build them, of course!) and then build up a Chef repository which will enable us to configure the nodes.

By the end of the course, you’ll be comfortable with the fundamentals of how Chef Server hangs together and how both the ChefDK and managed nodes interact with Chef Server.

I’m really enjoying working with Chef these days, especially with the ever-tighter integration with Azure, thanks to the close collaboration between Chef and Microsoft. Hope you enjoy it too
